The order is all disorderly

Posts are a bear to rearrange, so I'll just say:
July 4th: we went to Hamiltons Sofa Gallery
July 5th: Calico Corners, Home Expo, Havertys (and Chinese Take out)
Meanwhile...in the house: the laundry room and Master Bathroom area are being worked on. We now have an alarm system and Bret has ordered the wood for the bookshelves. Susie called today, from her Colorado exursion, which was so nice because I know she is busy doing Colorado stuff.

Another Canopy Bed

Here is another canopy bed we like, which doesn't have a "roof".

Hamiltons Sofa Gallery

I had a delightful time shopping with Marianne at Hamiltons. She is from Sweden, knows a bunch of languages, all about art history and seemingly, just about everything else. I want her brain. She was very helpful and patient.
We were considering this sectional (in a muted green) for the basement den, but decided to go with leather, which will hold its shape better.
I took this photo with my cell phone (and it looks it). A fun coffee table that can store more books!
Bret enjoyed playing with this:
A sofa table idea:

Home Expo Lighting Extravaganza

Look at all the fun lights they have! I don't need them, but I like having the photos of them. Shopping sure is fun with a camera!

Hamilton's Sofa Gallery

I found this leather set, which includes a sofa, chair and ottoman (not shown) for that price shown:

Home Expo

Got some carpet samples too. Thinking of either a muted blue or muted green. But I didn't see any good greens there. These are Karastan.

Home Expo July 5th

After Calico Corners went to Home Expo and found these drapery panels, which might be less expensive than the Calico Corners offerings. They ran about $75 to $125 a piece. So I would double that, needing two panels for a window or I could use them for bedhangings, then I would need four (for each corner).
I forget what colour this was, but I think it was a kind of nice yellow, but whatever it was, I liked it!
...and another:

Okay there's more:

Here is the canopy bed. As you can see, it really doesn't need any drapery around it. I don't really need an extra roof in the bedroom. Besides, the ceiling in our bedroom is too low, Bret pointed out. The canopy would be just inches away from the ceiling.

Calico Corners on July 5th

Look at the beautiful fabrics I found at "Calico Corners"! I spent about four hours in there with Marge, who was very helpful and taught me a lot. She showed me how using different textures adds interest and is what makes a room look so good. She was very patient (as you can imagine she must be, for me to walk out of there with a big smile on my face.) So here is what I left with:

These first 2 pictures are soft suede like fabrics. But they are only to show wall colour ideas.

In this first one, the bottom 3 are options. But the second to the bottom came out more yellow, it's really a yellow-green:

These two are slightly different from those in the first photo (but it's hard to see here, it seems.)

Here are three views of the walls of bolts, that I got samples from:

We concentrated on the bedroom. I was going to do an old fashioned canopy but when I talked with Bret about it, we realized the bed we picked out wouldn't need one. (I'll show that in the next post, because I can't just insert pictures nor move them around after I download them which causes me a lot of grief...) okay, I love this floral (which I have also on the following photo) and the diamond pattern. The floral pattern really conjures up the feel I have in mind. Rustic fairytale. The diamond pattern echoes the window mullions that I LOVE. I don't know what I would do with it, maybe just make a pillow or a covered round table.

These would be bedskirt ideas, strong enough to go with the bedhangings but not compete. The bottom one on this photo:
And the second to last on this one, it's hard to see, give it a click for a close up (for that matter, give everything a click):

I love this as an alternative. I thought it might be too feminine, but Bret didn't think so. I love this sea foam.
Here it is again with coordinating fabrics, but I'm not so fond of those.

I paperclipped these cuttings onto a string to get a good view. These came off the bolt walls. I have no specific use in mind for them, but might use them for accents, like pillows.

This plaid is the same as above, but shows that it includes green.
The second one is another bedskirt idea:
